Mission Statement: The York County Drug Treatment Court is a diversionary program that provides for the supervision and treatment of non-violent offenders who are chemically dependant. The primary goal is to graduate clean and sober, socially  responsible citizens by providing therapeutic interventions and Court imposed requirements.

Drug Court Facts:78% of those incarcerated in America have a substance abuse problem.

Drug Treatment Court is a voluntary program that includes weekly appearances before a DTC Judge, intense drug rehabilitation services and frequent drug testing to monitor the defendant's progress.

DTC separates non-violent offenders with substance abuse problems from the more violent offenders who require incarceration.

Recidivism of DTC participants is substantially lower than that of offenders who do not participate in DTC

DTC generates cost savings from reduced jail/prison time, reduced criminality and lower criminal justice system cost. There is an estimated $10 savings for every $1 spent on Drug Treatment Court.

For more information concerning Drug Courts, please read the National Association of Drug Court Professionals The Facts brochure.
